BOARD ROOM SESSIONS

    Countrywide Services


    Steve Blizzard Steve is currently an executive vice president for Countrywide Services and is Countrywide Financial Corporation's senior representative responsible for developing their existing UK businesses -- Global Home Loans and UK Valuation -- as well as new opportunities in both the UK and Europe. Countrywide's focus is "mortgage technology and process know-how".

    He is a "builder" and "fixer" of financial service businesses. Prior to joining Countrywide, his accomplishments include:
  • Founding managing director, and subsequently chairman of Homeloan Management (the U.K.'s second largest mortgage outsourcing company after Global Home Loans). He was also a director (Operations and IT) of Skipton Building Society.
  • Founding managing director of Legal & General Bank, one of the first de-novo banks to compete for off-the page deposits and cross-sell to other investment products.
  • Managing director of Mellon Financial Corporation's investor servicing, fund accounting and European custody operations. This operation achieved the highest industry service excellence awards amongst its competitors for 2002.

    Steve is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Asian Studies as well as a Masters in Business Administration with his thesis being done on service operations. He is a keen tennis player, vintage car collector and owns a small brewery in the Yorkshire Dales.
