BOARD ROOM SESSIONS

    head of credit markets division
    Caja Madrid

    Rafael Garces Rafael joined Caja Madrid in 1998 with responsibility for all senior funding, including MTN's Programme, Cedulas Hipotecarias; credit derivatives, secondary loan trading and securitisation for the bank.

    Previously he spent 10 years at Banco Español de Crédito as head of fixed income and head of capital markets after working as second vice president at Continental Illinois Bank in Madrid.

    Prior joining to Continental Illinois, he was credit analyst and assistant manager in the Capital Markets Group at Banco de Vizcaya from 1983-1987.

    He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
