BOARD ROOM SESSIONS

    director, International Structured Finance Ratings Group
    Standard and Poor's


    Brian Kane Brian joined Standard and Poor's in 1997 and is a director in the firm's International Structured Finance Ratings Group based in London. His primary role over the last five years with the group has been the rating of European commercial and residential mortgage backed securities.

    He has also rated transactions in other asset classes including; consumer assets, whole business securitisations, CBO's/CLO's, asset backed commercial paper transactions, nursing homes, student loans and small business loan pools. These transactions emanate from a number of different jurisdictions including; the UK, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland and Italy.

    Prior to joining Standard and Poor's he worked as a property research analyst with Legal and General Investment Management in London. Brian received his B.Sc. (surv.) degree from Trinity College Dublin in 1990 and a M.Sc. in Investment and Treasury Management from Dublin City University Business School in 1996. He reports to Kurt Sampson, managing director responsible for Standard and Poor's structured finance activity in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
