John Sutherland Divisional DirectorNationwide Building Society John Sutherland joined the then Nationwide Anglia Building Society in 1988. The role was managing FlexAccount which had been launched twelve months previously. His role gradually expanded to include all money transmission activities for the group. 1994 saw John move into the Retail network to manage the southern half of the branch network and in 1996 he was appointed Divisional Director for the whole network.In 1998 as Divisional Director Mortgages and Loans he became accountable for the processes across the organisation for these two core products. Recently he took over the programme to create a group-wide processing centre for all Nationwide products. He is a director of The Mortgage Code Compliance Board and The Housing Forum. In 1990 he began an MBA at the University of Exeter which he completed in 1993 and then went straight into an MA in Leadership Studies, again at Exeter. He graduated with distinction in 1996. He is married to Jacqueline, and they have two sons and a daughter. He is an away supporter of Sunderland football club and his other interests include military history, gardening and he is a Trustee of The Prospect Hospice in Swindon. back |
