He is based in Madrid and his primary focus is transactions in the Iberian Peninsula. Prior to joining the structured finance group, José Ramón worked for the Latin American structured finance group in New York for over two years, and the financial institutions' group for a similar period of time also covering Latin America. Before joining Standard & Poor's, he worked for Duff & Phelps Credit Rating Co. and Banco Español de Credito in New York, also involved with business in the region. While living in Spain, he worked for three years for Arthur Andersen & Co. providing audit and business advisory services. José Ramón holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University in New York and a Master's degree in Economic and Business from Pontificia de Comillas University (ICADE) of Madrid, Spain.
