BOARD ROOM SESSIONS

    Karsten von KoellerDr. von Köller is the outgoing chairman and member of the managing board of directors of Eurohypo AG and former president of the Association of German Mortgage Banks.

    A key figure in the German banking landscape, Karsten oversaw the creation of Eurohypo AG through the merger of RHEINHYP Rheinische Hypothekenbank AG, Deutsche Hyp Deutsche Hypothekenbank Frankfurt-Hamburg AG and Eurohypo Europäische Hypothekenbank der Deutschen Bank AG in 2002.

    He began his banking career in 1971, when he joined the syndicated loan and new issues department of BHF-Bank AG in Frankfurt am Main. In 1977, he became senior vice president, co-manager, of BHF-Bank's New York branch, a position he held until 1981, when he became executive vice president of BHF-Bank, responsible for the bank's corporate customer business in northern and western Germany and in western industrial countries.

    From 1984-2001, he was a member of the board of managing director of RHEINHYP Rheinische Hypothekenbank AG.

    He studied law in Munich and completed his studies with two law degrees and a PhD.
