Carmen Barrenechea is Subdirectora General of Madrid-based Titulización de Activos (TdA). She joined the firm in 1992, two months after the landmark Spanish securitisation law was passed. Carmen is responsible for the structuring and operational administration of securitisation funds managed by TdA.

Carmen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance from the Universidad Autonoma in Madrid, and did postgraduate studies in finance at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts in the United States.

TdA is the leading Spanish firm structuring and servicing ABS, MBS, MBOs and CLOs. The firm leads the market in total amounts issued as well as the number of companies grouped in its funds. At this moment more than 40 different financial entities are involved in the Funds issued and managed by TdA. The firm works with banks, private companies, and Public Administrations developing all kind of financial structures.

To date, TdA has originated and administered 14 mortgage-backed securities funds, five asset-backed securities funds collateralized by SME loans and the Fondo de TitulizaciÓn de Activos Resultantes de la Moratoria Nuclear. In total, the deals comprise an issuance of more than 12 billion euros.
