Rik Douwes is the Chief Executive Officer of STATER N.V., International Mortgage Servicer. Douwes graduated from the Technical University in Delft (The Netherlands) with a degree in civil engineering and specialty in business management. In the seven years immediately following his education Rik was employed as an international organizational consultant for Arthur Andersen.

From 1991 to 1996 Rik was the Managing Director of Bouwfonds Hypotheken, the fifth-largest residential mortgage lender in The Netherlands. During his tenure at Bouwfonds Hypotheken, Rik was crucial to the development and standardization of the Dutch electronic data infrastructure known as HDN, or Hypotheken Data Network.

Among other significant enhancements, Rik redesigned Bouwfonds' servicing platform from an administrative support tool to a commercially viable and proprietary servicing system later spun off into STATER and known as the STATER Mortgage System (SHS).

Rik has been the CEO of STATER since its inception in 1997.

Under Rik's leadership STATER has recently restructured its operations to fulfill the vision "Enabling crossborder lending" encompassed in its new identity, The EuroServicer - with the ultimate goal of offering independent, third-party servicing and streamlined mortgage functions throughout Europe on a country by country basis.

STATER is an international force in the market with over 450 employees, a head office in Amersfoort and branches in Leusden, the Netherlands, in Bonn, Germany, and in Brussels, Belgium. More than 1 million mortgage loans are under the administration of the STATER Mortgage System. STATER aims to step up its activities in a large number of countries in the Euro currency zone within the next five years.
