Kate Main Senior Policy AdviserCouncil of Mortgage Lenders  Kate Main studied modern languages at Durham University, and spent the first 10 years of her professional life working in local government - first with Surrey County Council and then with the Association of County Councils.She joined the Building Societies Association in December 1991, and when the BSA and CML de-merged in December 1996, moved to the CML as Senior Policy Adviser. Her responsibilities now cover all matters relating to the new regulatory structure for mortgage lending, including the new FSA rules and the review of Consumer Credit legislation, and also a number of European developments. Kate is a regular speaker at CML events, and the first point of contact for its 146 members who collectively represent approximately 98% of residential mortgage lending in the UK. back |
