A special evening with friends On Thursday, 23 October, EuroCatalyst 2003 participants are treated to an unforgettable night of networking and making new friends with "The EuroCatalyst Awards: A Special Evening with Friends". ![]() The festivities begin at 19.00 with an informal barbecue on the spacious grounds of the Castelo de São Jorge overlooking the Tagus River and panoramic vistas of Lisbon. Guests stroll among tents featuring an array of grilled meat and seafood specialties from the national markets featured on the EuroCatalyst 2003 program. Seated at tables and in lounge chairs with spectacular views of the setting sun, guests will have ample opportunity to mingle and discuss the day's proceedings.
As torches light up the evening, everyone is invited behind the castle walls for a private, two-hour performance by legendary jazz guitarist Larry Carlton and his wife, Grammy-Award winning vocalist Michele Pillar. Frequently referred to as the "guitarist's guitarist," Larry, who has two Grammy Awards of his own, will be performing entirely new material with his full 8-piece band. Between songs and sets Larry and Michele, part of the EuroCatalyst team, will join EuroCatalyst speakers and sponsors in presenting the EuroCatalyst 2003 awards for the Best of the European Mortgage Markets. ![]() The Carlton sound is unparalleled and unmistakable throughout a catalog of blockbuster recordings that span three decades of jazz, rock, film and television. It can be heard in more than 100 gold albums by such artists as Michael Jackson, Joni Mitchell, Barbra Streisand, Herb Alpert, Quincy Jones, John Lennon, Jerry Garcia, the Crusaders and Steely Dan. Rolling Stone magazine cites Larry’s performance on Steely Dan's "Kid Charlemagne" as one of rock music’s three best guitar licks ever. |
