  • About EuroCatalyst | Executive Profiles
Although everyone knows that companies are comprised of individuals, few executive profiles ever reveal much about the individuals who actually drive those companies. What makes EuroCatalyst unique are the individuals who share similar goals, aspirations and commitment to each other and the clients, partners and community we serve. And these are our stories about how each one of us came to be known as EuroCatalyst.
    EuroCatalyst is . . .
    TONI MOSS
    founder and CEO
toni mossToni is Managing Director of Lone Star Holdings, an intellectual-property holding firm comprised of original ideas and assets in global housing finance, real estate and community development, and property recycling. She is founder and CEO of EuroCatalyst BV and AmeriCatalyst LLC, "sister" global market-positioning and strategic advisory firms specializing in global housing finance industry. She is also the founder of Digital Ridge, Inc., a social media platform and property development concept for entrepreneurs and the self-employed encompassing a seamless global living and business paradigm for the 21st Century.

Toni is a unique force in today's global housing finance industry; with a strong entrepreneurial background in strategic marketing and corporate positioning, corporate intelligence, and global trend forecasting, she is often the first to identify significant industry trends and articulate their context.

Toni started her career in the corporate intelligence division of the world's largest multi-national conglomerate. A key investigative assignment in the financial services division of the firm inspired her passion for the housing finance industry, and mortgage servicing in particular. In the early 1990's, Toni co-founded Mortgage Analysis Portfolio Strategies (MAPS, Inc.), a due diligence and loan sale facilitation firm specializing in the acquisition and disposition of distressed residential mortgage assets and servicing portfolios during the S&L crisis.

In 1997 Toni relocated to Europe to become director of international corporate development for Bouwfonds (created in 1946 for postwar reconstruction of the Netherlands). She played a role in new initiatives including Dutch securitization and the restructuring of the Bouwfonds' Master Trust, which launched the first structured covered bond in Europe. Her primary responsibility was the cross-border expansion and branding of Stater, Continental Europe's first and largest third-party servicer. In this role, Toni was responsible for mapping out the structure of all 27 European mortgage markets, making her one of the first and few experts with extensive market knowledge of both the US and Europe.

In 2000 Toni established EuroCatalyst BV as a specialized consultancy in global mortgage market initiatives and related investments. Leveraging an enviable reputation and Rolodex, in 2002 Toni established an annual invitation-only peer-to-peer think tank to reposition the role and importance of mortgage markets in the wider context of globalization. As the primary host and content provider for all sessions, the EuroCatalyst event was revolutionary in debating developments across the entire lifecycle of global mortgage markets and challenging prevailing assumptions on global "best practices." In 2005 she established the annual EuropeServicing event to reposition the servicing sector and provide a collaborative platform for leading firms and visionaries about what the servicing sector could and should become.

In 2006 Toni served on the Board of Directors of the Statefirst group in Ireland alongside the chairman of Anglo Irish Bank, the chairman of RyanAir and the founder of the McKinsey Group in Europe.

Toni studied clinical and behavioral psychology at San Diego State, earning dual degrees in Psychology and Women's Studies. She is a charter member of the Long Now Foundation, a member of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals and a member of PEN.

In 2000, Moss established EuroCatalyst BV in the Netherlands as a specialized global consultancy for housing finance and global mortgage market developments and investments, personally leading all projects. Concerned that mortgage markets were excluded from the global economic dialogue, in 2002 EuroCatalyst established an annual conference, with Moss as host and content provider, to raise the profile of mortgage markets and draw attention to the impact of globalisation on them.

    SHIRLEY JACKSON
    founding partner, director
Shirley JacksonShirley is a founding partner and major shareholder in EuroCatalyst and is the director of EuroCatalyst Events, Media and Research. She is the creative force behind all EuroCatalyst events and is responsible for design/production of all advertising, branding and staging. (Click HERE - opens new window - to view a range of her work)

Prior to joining EuroCatalyst in 2002, Shirley was the deputy managing editor for The Japan Times, the largest and oldest English-language newspaper for the political and financial community in Japan. Throughout her 20-year tenure at The Japan Times, Shirley held a number of key positions at the newspaper, including head of the finance, business and politics news desks during rise and fall of the "bubble economy" of the late 1980s, head of the foreign and domestic new features managing a team of 60 reporters and staff writers, and head of the international weekly.

She was immortalized as "Sophie, the voluble newsroom ringleader" in the 1994 book "About Face," a sociological examination of business, politics and life in Japan. (Within EuroCatalyst, however, she is quite subdued).

Shirley studied Middle Eastern politics at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in International Relations. She earned a graduate degree in Political Science from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.

A professionally trained musician, Shirley is also an accomplished graphic artist and works with several renowned musicians to create website and poster art. Shirley was raised in two countries within equally distinctive cultures, Japan and Canada. We think that's why she is exceptional at bridging cultures and differences.

A member of the Canadian Association of Journalists as well as Amnesty International, Shirley has spent the last 10 years living in Europe, with frequent and lengthy stopovers in her hometown of Vancouver, British Columbia. But after 20 years as a resident of Japan, she's known to call everywhere her home, from Dublin to Rome to Amsterdam to London to Austin.
